About Lauren

I am a costume technician with a particular interest in historical fashion and garment-making.  My passion for costuming finds its origin in my classical ballet training, experience as a Civil War reenactress, and love for period dramas and old films.  As a costume technician, I strive to unite thoughtful application of technical skill and research with the exigencies of the contemporary performer, thereby enabling the transformation that reshapes the wearer into an entirely new character.

In May 2026, I graduated with a BFA in Design and Production from UNCSA’s Costume Design and Technology program, where I developed my skills in costume construction, patternmaking, various crafts, and design.  While there, I draped for shows including The Wild Party, Natasha, Pierre and the Great Commet of 1812, and A Little Night Music.   In summer 2025, I worked as a stitcher with the Pennsylvania Shakespeare Festival.

I enjoy filling my free time with reading, ballet classes, and adventures to historical sites, and of course, sewing vintage and historical garments for my own closet.
